Palm Desert Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf facility located in Palm Desert, California.
The Golf Course was originally designed by Billy Bell Jr. in 1962 and was completely redesigned in 1996 by Cary Bickler.
Don't let the 6,400 yards on the scorecard fool you, this course has some strategically place bunkers and water hazards that keeps even the longest of hitters honest;
The breathtaking views of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains are as good as any that you will find in the desert. The look and the feel of the 13,000 square foot clubhouse definitely represent the surrounding community of over 1,800 homes on Avenue of the States.
The course closed in June 2009 after former owner PDCC Developers filed bankruptcy. The course reopened in January 2012.
The facility has an Executive Nine Golf Course that closed in May 2013.

Desk Clerk at check in was surly and rude. Marshall on the course was a loudmouth who did nothing to solve the slow play. Took 4 hrs and 50 minutes to play on a track that should have taken 4 hrs.

Since redo, the course and especially the greens are in great shape and are maintained very well.

I like the course. It can be quite challenging if you stray off the fair way. Water comes into play a lot (15 of 18 holes). The staff is very helpful. It is easy to get in and out. The course is well kept as one would expect of this type of course. Keep it in the fairway, no drive more than 220 yards is needed from the whites to score well. Smaller than usual greens, well trapped, lots of Palm Trees which are strategically placed for those wayward tees shots. All par threes have water.
